Rather than google-ize my problems like normal, I thought I’d take advantage of the monocle’s nerd bench strength and ask a fairly ridiculous question.
Let’s assume I’m going to buy a PS3 and use it as a media centre. Let’s also assume I already have an old modded Xbox filled with hundreds of gigs of radness. Can I hook up the Xbox to my wireless router and stream from it the PS3 the same way I would any other computer? Or does streaming an Xbox through a Playstation violate one of the three laws of robotics? Am I better off just putting a 250gb hard drive in the PS3 and transferring shit over?

I’m quite disappointed in you nerds.
Nerds are used to it.
You can probably set up your xbox as a network share visible to the PS3, which could then browse and play the stored media. I think. But then you’d have to listen to the piercing whine of the xbox fans, plus whatever siren song the PS3 emits.
Let me know how it goes – I’m trying to justify a next-gen purchase myself.
Luckily the piercing whine of the Xbox would be in another room.
You’ve outnerded me with your post, that’s why I haven’t said anything.
